Advanced pain management and non-surgical therapies utilize cutting-edge technologies to eliminate chronic pain and avoid unnecessary surgeries.

Dr. Jacquie combines years of advanced pain management research and cutting-edge technology to create non-surgical sports medicine and pain management treatments that reduce and eliminate pain and enhance joint stability. Dr. Jacquie’s toolbox for highly effective pain management includes numerous therapies such as specialized stem cell therapy and Pure PRP Prolotherapy.

What is PRP?

PRP is a proven treatment using platelets from your blood to stimulate healing from injuries and inflammation. However, because this traditional treatment can have a painful recovery from 2 weeks to 6 months, Dr. Jacquie found it unacceptable for her patients.

At Carefree ReGen Medical, Dr. Jacquie uses the purest platelet concentration from your blood. Dr. Jacquie never cuts corners and only uses a state-of-the-art, evidence-based procedure, using Emcyte Pure PRPII kits and centrifuge, to obtain a pure concentrated extract from your blood. This process leaves behind the inflammatory cells in your blood and drastically reduces pain and recovery time. Dr. Jacquie never uses endotoxin containing yellow-top tubes to obtain your plasma for centrifuging. The process is then filtered and double centrifuged to obtain the purest, most concentrated sampling of platelets and growth factors from your own blood.

What are Stem Cells?

Stem Cells are medicinal signaling mesenchymal cells harvested from your own fat or bone marrow. When there is a significant tissue injury, implanting your own body’s stem cells are needed to stimulate natural tissue growth and remodeling.

Why Choose Stem Cell Therapy or PRP Therapy?

Conventional therapies like steroid injections, NSAIDs, and arthroscopic surgeries, although they provide temporary pain relief, may slow the healing process, and often have prolonged downtime that requires extensive physical therapy.

Here is what the 2019-2020 NFL Physicians Society of Orthobiologists say about cell-based therapies:

“Orthobiologic treatments, such as PRP and “stem cells”, offer promise for pain relief and potentially improved healing of certain conditions affecting tendons, ligaments, and joints.
Recent advances, backed by research, now allow for the new form of PRP, Emcyte Purified Concentrated Platelets, to reduce painful downtime to 1-2 days. The use of high-resolution musculoskeletal ultrasound guidance provides the precision of implantation of cell-based therapies. An in-office Mindray Hematology Analyzer documents the high platelet concentration used.

Strategic exercises allow continued function or training while the body heals.
Dr. Jacquie finds these measures absolutely necessary for her patients who compete athletically or have active lifestyles.

Did You Know?

Pain is a normal signal from the body telling you that something isn’t being done right. Something is missing that you need to do in order to normalize things again. You’ve dropped below an acceptable level of activity that is not meeting a need for some muscle in a specific way.

For some muscle there is too much strengthening, in another, there is not enough. Often there is a left-to-right, front-to-back, or upper-to-lower structure that is no longer stable and is now impinging on a nerve, blood supply, or nutrient supply. This results in a compounding problem of arthritis or degeneration of muscle or joint near the identified pain. It is important to remember that pain is not necessarily a sign of permanent damage. Personalized strategic muscle strengthening identifies and teaches you what muscle groups they are and what you can do to fix it.

What is Prolotherapy?

Proliferative therapy was traditionally called prolotherapy, researched by Doctors Hemwell and Hackett. Prolotherapy uses multiple superficial injections of a sugar and anesthetic solution to restart the healing and repair of a weakened ligament or tendon. Platelet-rich-plasma has also been used as well as bone marrow and adipose-derived stem cells. Those became popular to promote the proliferation of new cells and the remodeling of new tissue.

If you exercise regularly, have had an injury, or suffer from arthritis, you may benefit from prolotherapy. Ligaments and tendon attachments get stretched or tear when you exercise. When you are young, they heal quickly and regain their natural tensile strength. As you age or competitively train, you are causing repeated stretching or muscle strain, leading to joint instability or tears of the muscle or tendon.

Joint instability can result from repeated overstretching activities or a blunt accelerated injury as in being tackled, tripping and falling, whiplash, or if something heavy falls on you. A quick scan with high-resolution ultrasound can determine if you have a tear. An MRI confirms most injuries.

Here at Carefree ReGen Medical, Dr. Jacquie can determine where the weakness and instability is located on the musculoskeletal kinetic chain by examining a patient’s range of motion and gait. During a comprehensive assessment, Dr. Jacquie can determine the cause and analyze the extent of the problem to customize a treatment plan that works for your needs.

Restoration of joint stability is achieved by strengthening tendon and ligament attachments with prolotherapy and through a strategic progressive exercise plan. In most cases, athletes do not have to stop training!
